🔥FIRE Number

Your FIRE number is the pot of invested money that, in theory, can cover your annual spending forever. It is simply your yearly expenses divided by a safe withdrawal rate. This tool also estimates how many years you might take to reach it. Pure math, all in SGD.

Your FIRE number (target invested pot)
S$1,500,000
That is 25 times your annual expenses. Once invested, a 4 percent withdrawal would draw S$60,000 a year.
Saved so far S$100,000 Still to go S$1,400,000
Estimated time to reach your FIRE number
About 22 years
Assumes you keep adding S$30,000 a year and your pot grows 5 percent a year after inflation. Markets are not guaranteed, so treat this as a rough estimate.
There is no official Singapore safe withdrawal rate. The 4 percent default comes from the Trinity Study and the work of William Bengen, widely used in the FIRE community. For trusted Singapore planning guidance, MAS and the financial industry suggest investing at least 10 percent of income for retirement: see MAS Basic Financial Planning Guide (mas.gov.sg) and the PLAN with CPF tools (cpf.gov.sg). All figures here are editable, as of 2026, edit if your assumptions differ.

General information only, not financial advice. The years estimate ignores tax, lumpy expenses, CPF rules and market ups and downs, so your real path will differ. Verify any number with the official source before you act on it.
